Bird Observatory at El Ocote

Mirador de Aves Eco-Touristic Park and Resort El Ocote is a living paradise for avian fauna, probably this is the main reason of the great diversity of birds recently found by a specialized research group.

Some of the birds you could see in their natural habitat at El Ocote.

During the days of January 31 through February 2 of 2013 the first bird inspection and recognition was conducted. Bird specialists carried out long walks and hiking during day and night to find different bird species and beahaviors according to their habitat. Mirador de Aves

With this extensive research a total of 81 different bird species, were found: Tanagras, Halcones y Gavilanes, Trepatroncos, Chipes, Palomas, Atrapamoscas y otros. All these birds are found throughout the park's property and in different habitats according to their behavior. You may see them on treetops, branches, bushes, river or even by the ponds.
